Sending an SMS from a job

VanMan lets you send SMS messages to customers directly from the job detail page. Messages are logged against the job so your entire team can see the conversation history.

Open the job

Navigate to the job from the calendar or the jobs list and open the job detail panel.

Click Send SMS

Click the Send SMS button in the messages section. A message composer opens where you can write your message or select a template.

Write or select a template

Type your message in the text field, or click Use template to choose from your saved templates. If you select a template, smart variables like the customer's name and move date are filled in automatically.

Send the message

Review the message and click Send. The SMS is delivered to the customer's phone number on file. A record of the message appears in the job's message history with a delivery status indicator.

The customer's phone number is pulled from the job's customer details. If no phone number is set, you will be prompted to add one before sending.

Use SMS for time-sensitive messages like booking confirmations and day-of-move updates. SMS has higher open rates than email, so important information is more likely to be seen quickly.
