Updating your payment method

Change the card on your subscription through the Stripe billing portal.

Updated 19 July 2026 · 3 min read

VanMan has no card-entry screen. Your payment method is changed in Stripe's billing portal, reached from Settings > Billing. There is no "update card" form inside VanMan — anything describing card number and CVC fields on a VanMan page is describing Stripe's portal, not VanMan.

Only Admins can reach the Billing page, so only Admins can update the payment method.

If your account shows "No Billing Setup"

There is no payment method to update. That message means no Stripe subscription exists for your account and nothing is being charged — so there is no card on file to change.

If your account has billing set up

Open Billing

Settings > Billing as an Admin.

Enter the Stripe portal

Click Manage Billing — or Add Payment Method if you are on a trial. Either takes you to Stripe's hosted portal.

Update the card in Stripe

Add or replace your card using Stripe's secure form. Because this is Stripe's interface, this help centre cannot show the exact fields — follow the portal's prompts.

Card handling is Stripe's, not VanMan's — VanMan never sees or stores your card number. Which card types are accepted, how a declined payment is retried, and any billing notifications are all governed by Stripe and your plan, not by the app.

Tutorial: replace an expiring card

Your business card is about to expire and you want to swap it before the next charge.

Check you can even do this

Open Settings > Billing. Not there? You are not an Admin, and updating the card is Admin-only.

See whether there is a card at all

If the page says No Billing Setup, there is no Stripe subscription and no card on file — nothing to replace, and nothing will be charged.

Go to Stripe

If there is a Manage Billing button, click it. You are now in Stripe's portal, the only place the card can be changed.

Add the new card, then remove the old

Use Stripe's payment-method controls to add the new card and make it default. Stripe handles the switch — VanMan is not involved in the transaction.

Confirm in Stripe, not VanMan

Stripe's portal is where you confirm the new card is active. VanMan's Billing page only reflects subscription status, not your card details.
