Choosing truck colours for the calendar
Each truck in VanMan is assigned a colour that is used throughout the app — on the calendar, in job assignments, and in fleet views. Choosing distinct colours makes it easy to see which truck is assigned to each job at a glance.
Selecting a colour
Navigate to SettingsTrucks and click the truck you want to update. The colour field offers two options:
- Preset palette — eight pre-selected colours (blue, red, green, orange, purple, pink, cyan, and amber) designed to be visually distinct from each other.
- Custom hex code — click the colour picker to choose any colour or enter a specific hex value to match your company branding.
Choose contrasting colours for trucks that are frequently scheduled on the same days. If two trucks have similar colours, it can be hard to tell them apart on a busy calendar.
Where colours appear
Your truck colour is displayed:
- As the lane colour on the weekly calendar view
- On job blocks within that truck's lane
- In the truck dropdown when assigning a truck to a job
- On the mobile app when drivers view their assigned jobs
You can change a truck's colour at any time. The calendar and all active jobs update immediately to reflect the new colour. Completed jobs in the history retain the colour they had at the time.
