Setting truck capacity

Each truck in VanMan can have a capacity value measured in cubic metres (m³). This helps you and your team assign the right-sized truck for each job based on the volume of items being moved.

Open truck settings

Navigate to SettingsTrucks and click the truck you want to update.

Enter the capacity

Enter the truck's cargo capacity in the Capacity field. The value is measured in cubic metres. For example, a standard truck for a two-bedroom move might be 20 m³, while a larger truck for furniture or full house moves could be 40 m³ or more.

Save

Click Save to update the truck. The capacity value is now visible when assigning trucks to jobs.

As a general guide: a one-bedroom flat typically requires around 15 m³, a two-bedroom house around 20–25 m³, and a three-bedroom house 30–40 m³. Set your truck capacities based on the types of moves you handle most often.

How capacity is used

The capacity value is displayed alongside the truck name when you assign a truck to a job. This makes it easy to pick the right vehicle without having to remember each truck's size. Capacity is informational — VanMan does not prevent you from assigning a smaller truck if needed.

Capacity is optional. If you do not set it, the truck still works normally for scheduling and job assignment. You can always add or update the value later.
