Connecting Gmail
Connect your Gmail account to VanMan and every email that mentions a job number will be automatically captured against the right job. Your team can see the full email thread and attachments without leaving VanMan.
Open integration settings
Navigate to SettingsIntegrations. You will see cards for each available integration. Find the Gmail card.
Start the connection
Click the Connect button on the Gmail card. VanMan will redirect you to Google's sign-in page where you can choose which Google account to connect.
Authorise VanMan
Google will ask you to grant VanMan permission to read and send emails on your behalf. Review the permissions and click Allow. VanMan needs these permissions to capture incoming emails and let you reply from within the app.
VanMan only reads emails that contain job numbers. It does not read or store your personal emails. Your credentials are encrypted with AES-256.
Confirm the connection
You will be redirected back to VanMan. The Gmail card will now show your connected email address and a green status indicator. VanMan immediately begins watching for emails that mention job numbers.
To disconnect Gmail at any time, click the Disconnect button on the Gmail card. This revokes VanMan's access to your inbox. Previously captured emails remain on their jobs.
Use the Test Connection button to verify everything is working. VanMan will check that your token is valid and the email watch is active.
