Generating a quote from materials
After adding materials to a job, you can generate a customer-facing quote that shows the breakdown of costs. This helps customers understand what they are paying for and builds trust.
Add materials to the job
Make sure you have added all relevant materials and costs to the job's Costing tab. The quote will be generated from these items.
Generate the quote
Click the Generate Quote button on the Costing tab. VanMan creates a quote document with all materials listed as line items, including quantities, unit prices, and totals.
Review and customise
Preview the quote before sending. You can add or remove line items, adjust prices, and add notes or terms. The total including GST is recalculated automatically.
Send to the customer
Send the quote to the customer via email or SMS. The customer receives a professional document showing the full cost breakdown.
Once the customer accepts the quote, you can convert it to an invoice with one click. All line items carry over — no re-entry needed.
Quotes are stored against the job alongside invoices and other documents. You can view and resend them at any time from the job detail page.
