How AI job appraisal works
Understand what VanMan's AI appraisal does, the data it uses, and how to opt out.
Every job in VanMan has an Appraisal tab that uses AI to help you size up a move and build an accurate estimate faster. Instead of manually working through an inventory, you let the appraisal gather what it can and then review and adjust its findings.
What the appraisal does
The appraisal synthesises several sources into a single, structured job assessment:
- Interior photos and videos you upload, which AI analyses to detect rooms and individual items.
- Street View and satellite imagery automatically fetched for the job address (outdoor only), used for parking and access advice.
- Truck specifications and the pickup and drop-off locations recorded on the job.
From this combined picture, VanMan builds an estimate that maps the detected items to your materials and pricing, ready for you to send to the customer.
Automatic appraisal
With Automatic Basic Appraisal enabled, simply opening the Appraisal tab sends the booking details to the AI. It selects the best-fit appraisal template and pre-fills an estimate for you to review and adjust, so you start from a working draft rather than a blank page.
It's optional
The appraisal is a starting point, not the final word. You can edit everything it produces, and there is a clear opt-out that sends nothing to the AI if you would rather appraise the job yourself.
If you change the job address, VanMan re-runs the outdoor assessment against the new location so parking and access advice stays accurate.
The more complete your photos and job details, the sharper the AI's assessment. Always give the pre-filled estimate a quick review before sending.
