Scheduling a job on the calendar

You can create a new job from anywhere in VanMan, and it will automatically appear on the calendar once a date and truck are assigned.

Open the new job form

Click the New job button in the top navigation bar. You can also click directly on an empty time slot in the calendar to pre-fill the date, time, and truck for that slot.

Enter customer and address details

Fill in the customer's name, phone number, and email address. Then enter the pickup address and delivery address using the autocomplete suggestions powered by Google Maps.

Set the date and time

Choose the job date from the date picker and set the start time. Enter an estimated duration in hours so the calendar displays the correct block size for the job.

Assign a truck

Select a truck from the Truck dropdown. The list shows each truck's name, colour, and availability for the chosen date. Trucks with conflicting bookings are flagged so you can choose an available alternative.

Save the job

Click Save job to confirm. The job immediately appears on the calendar in the assigned truck's colour and is visible to all operators and drivers in real time.

If you click on an empty slot in the calendar to start a new job, the date, time, and truck are pre-filled automatically. This is the fastest way to schedule when you are already looking at the calendar.
