Resolving scheduling conflicts

VanMan automatically detects when two jobs overlap on the same truck and warns you before the conflict is saved. This prevents double-bookings and ensures your crew is never assigned to two places at once.

How conflict detection works

When you create or reschedule a job, VanMan checks whether the assigned truck already has a booking that overlaps with the selected time. If a conflict is found, the truck is flagged in the Truck dropdown and a warning message is displayed.

Conflict detection is based on the job's start time and estimated duration. If a job does not have a duration set, VanMan cannot accurately detect overlaps. Always enter an estimated duration when creating jobs to get the most accurate conflict warnings.

Resolving a conflict

Review the warning

When a conflict is detected, VanMan displays a warning showing which job already occupies the time slot. Read the details to understand the overlap.

Choose an alternative

You can resolve the conflict by selecting a different truck that is available at that time, changing the job date or start time to avoid the overlap, or adjusting the duration of one of the conflicting jobs.

Save the updated job

Once the conflict is resolved, click Save job. The warning disappears and the job is placed on the calendar without any overlap.

Check the weekly view before scheduling a new job to visually identify which trucks have available time slots. This helps you avoid conflicts before they occur.
