Downloading and signing in to the app
Install the VanMan Solutions app and sign in — by email, Google, or Microsoft.
The crew app is called VanMan Solutions in the App Store and Google Play. It is a phone app — iOS and Android, portrait only. There is no tablet version.
Downloading
Search VanMan Solutions on the App Store or Google Play, or use the download links in the footer of the VanMan website. It is free — your subscription covers it.
Signing in
The sign-in screen is headed Crew sign in. (Do not be thrown that the logo on it reads Removalist. — same app.) You have three ways in:
- Email and password — your VanMan credentials, then Sign In.
- Sign in with Google.
- Sign in with Microsoft.
The two SSO buttons — Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft — are often the fastest route, since your work account is usually one of those. If your VanMan login is a Google or Microsoft identity, use the matching button rather than email/password.
Who can sign in
The app admits only Driver and Admin roles. If a team member has a different user role, they get "This app is for drivers only." and cannot proceed.
So a crew member who needs the app must have the Driver user role (set on the web at Settings > Users) — not Operator, not User. And there is no self-signup: they must have been invited and accepted first.
If someone belongs to more than one organisation, they may hit a Select your organisation step after signing in.
Permissions
On first entry the app asks to send notifications (job assignments, chat), and — separately, later — to share location. Location is not required to sign in; see starting and ending your day for how location sharing actually works.
Tutorial: get a new driver signed in
Their account exists on the web; now get them into the app.
On the web, check Settings > Users shows them with the Driver role and that they have accepted. If they are set to any other role, the app will refuse them with "This app is for drivers only" — fix the role before they even try.
Have them search VanMan Solutions on their phone's store. Confirm it is the phone — there is no tablet build, so a cab tablet is not the place for it.
On the Crew sign in screen, if their work account is Google or Microsoft, use Sign in with Google / Sign in with Microsoft. Otherwise email and password, then Sign In. The Removalist. logo is expected — it is the same app.
If they work for more than one org, they choose yours at the Select your organisation step. Most people skip straight past this.
Accept the notifications prompt so they receive job assignments and messages. Deny it and they will miss dispatch updates.
They do not need to grant location just to sign in. Location sharing is controlled later from their Profile and tied to selecting a truck — do not tell them it must be on to log in. See starting and ending your day.
